Power protesters released, sit-in continues

BOONI: As many as 13 people from Awi Lasht, who were arrested by police on Saturday, were released today.

But the people of the village, including these 13 people, announced to continue their protest sit-in till they are provided electricity from Dumadoomi powerhouse of the SRSP. 

The residents say they had worked on the construction of the powerhouse and were promised electricity by the power committee. Now the village has been ignored, they added.   

“We have no dispute with any person or organization but want electricity and till fulfillment of this genuine demand we continue our protest,” a resident of the village told ChitralToday.
