British-era polo ground being restored after 40 years

CHITRAL A British-era polo ground in the garrison town of Drosh is being restored after 40 years through funds provided by the provincial government.

The Communication and Works (C&W) Department has released Rs6.76 million for the restoration of the polo ground after which the Tehsil Municipal Administration Drosh started repair of a link road to the ground. Work on the project was inaugurated by chief minister’s special assistant Wazirzada.

Moreover, construction of a link road for Shah Nigar costing Rs2 million, sanitation scheme for Madina Colony at Junali  Road in Drosh worth Rs1 million and another similar scheme for Khorandok costing Rs0.5 million to be completed under the TMA also got underway.

Work on the construction of Osiak bridge was yet again inaugurated, this time by Wazirzada. The first inauguration was held by the chief minister a fey years ago. The C&W department has approved Rs100 million for the bridge.
