All educational institutions to remain closed from Nov 26

ISLAMABAD: The inter-provincial ministers’ conference on Monday decided that all educational institutions will remain closed in the country from Nov 26 to Dec 24 in the wake of rising corona cases.

The instructions will observe winter vacation from Dec 25 to Jan 10. In the meanwhile, online classes will be arranged from Nov 26 to Dec 24.

The decision was announced by federal minister for education Shafqat Mehmood at a news conference after a meeting of the inter-provincial ministers in Islamabad. He said all exams scheduled till December would be held from the middle of January 2021.

All board exams scheduled to be held in March-April may be held in May and June, he suggested.

A review meeting will be held in January to assess the pandemic situation and take further steps, the minister added.

The ministers’ decision would be approved by Central Command and Operation Centre (CCOC) headed by the prime minister on Nov 25.
