Repair work on Chitral-Drosh road substandard: MNA

CHITRAL: MNA Molana Abdul Akbar on Thursday expressed displeasure over the quality of work on the repair of the road between Chitral town and Drosh.

In a statement, the MNA said as member of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Communication he inspected the repair work at Jughoor on Thursday morning and found it extremely substandard. He said only 1.5 inch charcoal was laid on the the road which was not sufficient.

The MNA said he immediately contacted NHA Director Zulfiqar Janjua and informed him about the issue. Mr Janjua is reaching Chitral today, he added.

He said the repair of the road has been started because his personal efforts and he would ensure quality work at all costs.

It may be noted that all roads in Chitral have developed potholes and ditches due to lack of maintenance for over a decade.
