Social activist’s death termed a big loss for Chitral

AYUN: Former village council nazim and popular social activist Fazlur Rehman, who died in Peshawar on Thursday after a short illness, was laid to rest in Muldeh.

He was first taken to Karachi after suffering sudden renal failure and then brought to a private hostel in Islamabad. Later, he was shifted to Peshawar where he passed away.

A larger number of people attended his funeral and expressed sorrow and grief at the passing away of the young activist.

Rehman was active campaigner against the timber mafia of Chitral and raised voice against cutting of forest.

Because of his veciforous drive, he was booked in a number of cases, including on terrorism charges, and jailed.

Local people termed the death of Rehman a big loss for the whole area.–GH Farooqui
