PESHAWAR: The Govt Degree College for Boys Chitral was on Wednesday sealed after emergence of 14 coronavirus cases among students in the institution.
According to a notification issued by the deputy commissioner Lower Chitral, the premises would remain closed for eight days from Nov 4.
The decision was taken on the recommendation of the district health officer (DHO) Lower Chitral. It said the infected students should be asked to remain in isolation in their houses. Area magistrate and police have been directed to ensure that no one entered the college till it reopens during the period.
Meanwhile, at a meeting the provincial task force on Covid-19 expressed concern over the rising cases of coronavirus in Chitral and directed the health secretary to visit both the districts. The meeting also directed to ensure facilities in the hospitals of Chitral.
