Nagar Fort wins polo trophy for second time

DROSH: Nagar Fort beat Kuro Drosh to retain the polo cup trophy for the second year on Monday.

In the final match played here, Nagar Fort scored six goals against just one by the Kuru team.

As many as eight teams from Drosh, comprising players from both the Lower and Upper Chitral districts, took part in the tournament.

Talking to ChitralToday, Shahzada Hishaul Mulk, who is the general secretary of Sports Coordination Committee of Drosh, which organized the tournament, said the main objective of the event was to promote the game of polo in the area.

The tournament was sponsored by Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) under the PPF FUNd project.

At the end, Col Mudassir of Chitral Scouts, Assistant Commissioner Drosh Abdul Haq, Tariq Mehmood, DPM of SRSP, and Munir Ahmed Saeed distributed trophies and awards among the players.
