Power supply to flood-hit Glen restored

CHITRAL: The Sarhad Rural Support Program (SRSP) restored electricity supply to the GLOF-affected Golen valley of Lower Chitral on Friday.

The recent GLOF washed away electric poles and transmission lines due to which power supply to different villages of Golen was suspended.

GLOF has very badly damaged the infrastructure in Golen valley and the unavailability of electricity in the affected villages had increased the miseries of the local people.

However, SRSP staff with assistance from the local community restored power supply after four days of struggle, says a press release.

Now the affected villages of Izghore, Baka, Och and Golen Payeen have again lighted up.
