Cabinet imposed from outside not acceptable: PTI workers

CHITRAL: Workers of the ruling PTI at a convention here on Thursday rejected the recently-formed district cabinet and made it clear to the party leadership that any such decision without taking them on board would never be acceptable to them.

The party workers and members belonging to the PTI youth, labour, student wings and Insaf teachers association passed a unanimous resolution which they said represented the sentiments and aspirations of the workers.

The resolution was handed over to PTI Upper Chitral leader Shahzada Sikendarul Mulk for conveying it to the party’s central leadership in Islamabad, including the head of the PTI’s reorganization unit Siaufullah Khan Niazi.

Besides Shahzada Sikendar, senior party leaders Sartaj Ahmed Khan, Haji Sultan Muhammad, Israr Uddin Kasana, Muhammad Yaqoob, Raziuddin, Nazir Ahmed Khan, Israr Saboor and Haji Gul Nawaz spoke on the occasion.

They criticized district president Sajjad Ahmed Khan and former president Abdul Latif and said these two rivals of the past have now joined hands for their own self-interest even though they never wanted unity in the party.

They have no vote bank even in their own areas and therefore have always been against inclusion of influential and popular people in the party in order to pave the way for their own monopoly, they added.

The speakers made it clear to the party high command that the workers were the actual asset of the party and imposing anyone on them would not be in the interest of the future of the PTI.

Shahzada Sikendar said he would convey the reservations of the workers to the party high command so that the actual picture could become clear to it.

He regretted that some people in the PTI had always been against inclusion of newcomers in the party and also did not give importance to the opinion of the workers which was against the vision of party chief Imran Khan.

Sartaj Ahmed Khan stressed the need to give due importance to the opinion of the workers and said those who caused fissures in the PTI were actually traitor of not only the party but also the area.
