BOONI: In Booni bazaar, a police team under the supervision of Station House Officer (SHO) Zuhoor Ahmed got all shops closed that were found open after 5pm on Wednesday.
The action was taken as a part of guidelines issued to the traders to check the spread of the coronavirus.
Under the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the government, shops, markets and malls across the province are supposed to close by 5pm.
During the day, the traders are also required to adopt precautions against the virus.
SHO Ahmed told ChitralToday on Wednesday evening that on the direction of District Police Officer (DPO) Zulfiqar Ahmed Tanoli, police had been on their toes to ensure the traders adopted all the guidelines and closed their businesses at 5pm.
Though the police have imposed fines and challaned shopkeepers in Booni bazaar for violating the SOPs and opening their shops after the closing timing, today they were warned to follow the timings.
In this regard, the police continued patrolling the bazaar and other areas to ensure all shops were closed. The SHO said action would be taken if anyone was found violating the business hours.
