Nine corona cases in single day take tally to 28

  • Total number of positive cases in Lower Chitral is 23, Upper Chitral five.
  • Except one, all infected patients came to Chitral from different cities of Pakistan.
  • Fresh cases included a 12-year-old and a 17-year-old girls. 

 

CHITRAL: The district of Lower Chitral saw a record one-day high positive cases of nine corona patients on Thursday, taking the tally in the whole Chitral to 28 after the first case was detected on April 19.

The nine corona cases (names withheld to protect privacy of patients) included five woman, a 12-year-old girl among them. They were on quarantine in Chitral town and Drosh after their return from different cities of Pakistan, lab reports available with ChitralToday show.

The women are residents of Kosht, Seen Lasht and Koghuzi. They are aged 12, 17, 70, 23 and 36 and had returned from Peshawar.

After confirmation of the virus, the patients have been shifted to the tehsil and district headquarters hospitals in Drosh and Chitral town.

The male patients belong to Osiak, Koghuzi, Kosht and Zargarandeh in Chitral town. They are aged 28, 68, and 51. This is the first single-day jump of positive cases seen in Chitral after the outbreak of the disease.

Out of the total patients, 23 are in lower and five in upper Chitral districts. The 82 quarantine centres in lower Chitral have run out of capacity as over 1,600 are being kept there,

On April 29, political parties in Chitral recommended 10-day closure of the Lowari tunnel so that spaces could be made available for new arrivals after the people already on quarantine go home after completion of their two-week stay.

    This is not good news for Chitral that in these days how can people traveling to Chitral to spread the covid-19 in the districts. It should be dangerous for the area, kindly close Lawari Tunnel & only open for emergency only.

    thanks, at least media personnel and hospital management realised that there is something called, “patients privacy protocols”. Otherwise, they were directly uploading reports with their CNIC No.s written on them.
