Four more test positive for COVID-19 in Chitral

CHITRAL: Four more test positive for COVID-19 in Chitral. The results of four more people, including a 38-year-old woman, came positive in Chitral, taking the tally to 16 on Monday, according to the lab results available with ChitralToday.

Three of the four new patients, are from Lower Chitral. The 38-year-old woman is from Damel while the remaining two, aged 64 years and 38 years, are from Denin.

All these patients were on quarantine after their return from different parts of the country such as Peshawar and Islamabad and their samples were sent to Peshawar for COVID-19 test.

After confirmation of the virus, they have now been shifted to isolation.

With these three, the total umber of coronavirus patients in Lower Chitral increased to 12 and in Upper Chitral to four. The patient from Upper Chitral, aged 28 years, is from Charun.

ChitralToday has decided not to mention the names of COVID-19 patients to protect their privacy.

Quarantine centres

The district administration has set up 82 quarantine centres in Lower Chiral out of which 60 are in the Chitral town and 2 in Drosh with the capacity to accommodate 1,932 people, 1003 in Chitral town and 22 in Drosh.

So far, 948 people have been discharged from these quarantine centres after they completed the two weeks stay in it upon their arrivals form different cities of Pakistan.

Except one, all patients diagnosed with the virus had come from outside Chitral.
