CHITRAL: PTI workers criticize changes to party’s district cabinets.
The PTI announced new cabinets for both Lower and Upper Chitral sending most of the office-bearers named last year packing or reshufling them.
PTI workers in Lotkoh, Shoghor, Karimabad union councils ctiticized demotion of Sartaj Ahmed Khan from the post of president to senior vice president and said he had been elected by the party workers in front of PTI Malakand division leadership in October last year.
Earlier, they had at a meeting in Garam Chashma expressed their reservations about possible changes to the cabinet.
According to a notification issued by the PTI, Sajjad Ahmad Khan has been reappointed as the president of the PTI Lower Chitral district.
The other office-bearers are: Aminul Hassan, vice president; Shujaur Rehman, vice president; Faisal Salahuddin, general secretary; Muhammad Yaqub Khan, additional general secretary; Rehman Ali Shah, deputy general secretary (Chitral tehsil); Nisar Dastagir, deputy general secretary (Drosh town); Shuja, finance secretary, and Aminur Rehman, information secretary.
Upper Chitral district
Rehmat Ghazi, president; Miraj Khan, senior vice president; Ihsanullah and Jamshed Ahmed, vice presidents; Aftab M. Tahir, general secretary; Zulfi Hunar Shah, additional general secretary; Sarwar Uddin, deputy general secretary (Mastuj tehsil); Qayum Khan, deputy general secretary (Mulkhow tehsil); Babar, finance secretary, and Mukhtar, information secretary.
Party workers said most of the office-bearers have been included in the cabinets without taking them into confidence.
They said instead of parachute inductions, cabinets should consist of those who have for long rendered services for the party.
They also said due to such undemocratic decisions the PTI could not win any election in Chitral.
The recent decision about the cabinets without consensus of the workers will cause irreparable loss to the party in Chitral, they maintained.
