GARAM CHASHMA: PTI workers and activists from three union councils at a meeting here expressed their apprehension about reports that changes were being made to the local organizations of the party in Lower Chitral.

The meeting was attended by PTI workers and leaders from the union councils of Lotkoh, Shoghor and Karaimabad.

Though there is a ban on public gathering in the wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak, the PTI workers met after reports that the recently-constituted district cabinet was being shuffled.

The participants were of the view that the office-bearers and cabinet of the PTI Lower Chitral district had been named on consensus among the workers and in the presence of the leadership from the PTI Malakand Division.

The participants said if the reports were true it would be a joke with the workers and an injustice to those who had rendered sacrifices for the party.

Addressing the leadership of the PTI, the party workers said it should be in their knowledge that so far the PTI has not achieved any electoral success in Chitral and faced defeat in every election.

Keeping this in view, the workers after the 2018 election resolved to make the PTI a strong political force in Chitral. Keeping this objective in view, it was decided to invited and include known and seasoned political figures in the party.

It was also decided that the decision regarding reorganization of the party would be taken after taking all the workers workers into confidence.

Based on these facts, the district cabinet was constituted and now there are reports that its being changed by some elements which would not be acceptable to the workers at any cost, the participants said in a resolution, copy of which is available with ChitralToday.

The PTI workers from the three UCs appealed to the party leadership not to make any change to the cabinet formed on the their consensus for the best interest of the party in Chitral.
