University of Chitral launches open resources website

CHITRAL: University of Chitral has launched Pakistan’s first ever open educational resources (OER) website to facilitate its students as well as the citizens with learning disposition all over the globe.

In a press release, the university said the website is a gateway to hundreds of universities, higher education institutes (HEIs) and websites offering free online courses, audio/video lectures, ebooks, research journals and countless educational material.

In addition, the website facilitates students and scholars at all level to timely access the worldwide websites, offering scholarships.

In the present scenario when all educational intuitions have been closed for physical access and students are urged towards online education, the major issue is the availability and access to relevant material at one place and this website is an effort to address this issue.

“University of Chitral has provided Online Learning Management System (LMS) to its students from the very outset, and now with a bold forward step it has launched this (OER) website.”

This website is a gateway to access the database of the National Digital Library of Pakistan, the Ebrary of HEC and the best free online libraries of the world. Especially, the website will provide a platform to the scholars and students who are conducting research in any filed.

The book bank of this website offers hundreds of thousands of pdf books on each subject, duly sorted subject-wise to facilitate online reading /download.
