Father of four dies, his two brothers injured in well collapse

CHITRAL: A father of four lost his life while his two brothers were hospitalized with head injuries after mud and boulders fell on them while they were digging a well in their village.

The incident occurred in Shali Pitcheli, about 30 kilometres from Chitral own, on Sunday.

Local resident Shahid Ahmed told ChitralToday correspondent that three sons of Feroz Baba identified as Sher Khan, Saddam Hussain and Akhter Hussain had completed digging the well and one of them – Sher Khan – was cleaning its surface when mud and stones fell down on him.

The other two brothers jumped into the well and were hit and buried under more debris falling into the well.

They remained buried under the debris for quite long time till they were rescued by local people and shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital where Sher Khan passed away.

The two injured were still unconscious in the hospital, said a relative.—Muhkam Uddin Ayuni
