Volunteers help enroll over 1400 students in govt schools
CHITRAL: Under the ‘Take a child to school’ project launched by the Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) and financed by the British Council, 1,441 students have been enrolled in government schools during the current academic session.
This was disclosed by Zubair Anwar, the project’s provincial coordinator, while speaking at a community event held here to disburse remuneration cheques to the volunteers.
He said initially seven union councils had been taken where parents of out-of-school children were pursued to enroll them in schools.
He said mohalla committees were also formed in the targeted villages to enlist the support of active members of civil society and they acted as bridge between the organisation and the people.
