SBP strong room in Balim

I would like to draw the attention of State Bank of Pakistan and National Bank of Pakistan’s authorities towards the pathetic condition of the strong room in NBP’s main branch in Balim, Chitral’s north-most district.

The bank’s own building was demolished in 2011 to extend the road, and the branch was temporarily shifted to a rented building. This branch serves as the SBP repository and strong room for 51 branches of different banks as well as the state treasury.

The NBP branch strong room is housed in a garage near the main bus stand while the branch is working on the first floor of the garage. No responsible officer of the SBP or NBP has inspected this important branch for years.

The SBP and NBP should take note.
