Five arrested in Kesu murder case, main suspect is at large

AYUN: Police have arrested five people on suspicion of their involvement in the murder of a young man from Ayun last week.

However, the main suspect, identified as Fazle Hadi, is still at large.

Zakir Ahmed, father of two, went missing after going to Kesu to meet relatives on June 9. His decomposed body was recovered four days later from a dry nullah near Kesu village.

The police on Friday said it had taken into custody five suspects and were hunting for the sixth and main suspect.

The arrested suspects were identified as Ziaur Rehman and Sanaur Rehman, sons of Mustajab Khan; Naemul Hadi, and Aqeel Ahmed, sons of Pir Muhammad, and Muhammad Hazrat, son of Sher Azam.

Brother appeals for justice

Muhammad Ayaz, a brother of the deceased, told local media that his brother had been murdered under a conspiracy.

He said call record data (CDR) of his brother showed that the murderers had repeatedly called the deceased and asked him out of his relatives house in Kesu. After leaving the house, he disappeared.

Carrying an infant child of the deceased along with three-year-old daughter of the deceased, Mr Ayaz said he had full confidence in the police to trace all the killers and expose the motive behind the murder.

He alleged that the main suspect, Fazle Hadi, was the employee of a department and some people were trying to save him from being arrested.
