Expansion of Chitral airport set to begin

ISLAMABAD: The expansion of Chitral airport is set to begin as experts from Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) visited the airport and inspected its different sections.

In June 2018, the CAA planned to expand the Chitral airport in anticipation of an increase in air traffic and influx of visitors after the completion of the ongoing projects being constructed under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Work has also been started at Swat and Parachinar airports. Saidu Sharif Swat Airport is called a gateway of tourism which was built in 1978. in 2004, owing to risky safety state of affairs, the airport was closed.

For a similar cause, Parachinar airport was additionally shut down in 2004.
