BOONI: The four-day annual Qaqlasht festival concluded on Sunday with lots of fanfare and amid thousands of spectators.
The cultural festival featured a number of sports and games such as polo, football, cricket, tug of war and volleyball. Local artists also performed and enthralled the spectators.
In the final match of football, Torkhow defeated Morder and lifted the trophy. In the polo senior category match, Headquarters Booni and in junior category Mastuj remained the winners.
The trophy of cricket was lifted by the team from Dir while the trophy for the tug of war was taken away by the Chitral town team. Hussain Zareen of Torkhow won the shooting contest.
Deputy Commissioner Chitral Khurshid Alam Mahsud and others distributed trophies and awards among the winning teams and players.
