Booni road reopened after removal of rocks/boulders
CHITRAL: The Chitral-Booni road remained closed for hours at Nerdeth after rocks/boulders fell down during heavy rain on Thursday.
The rocks/boulders were later removed by the C&W department and the road was reopened for traffic. A large number of people remained stranded on both sides of the blocked portion of the road.
As rain/snowfall continued across Chitral, a number of roads were closed due to avalanches and boulders/rocks fall. According to reports, passenger vehicles also got stranded on both sides of the Lowari tunnel for hours due to heavy snowfall.
Many people also cancelled their journeys to and from Chitral due to the inclement weather with the forecast of more rains. Pictures released by the DC office.
