The world has become a global village due to the advancement in information technology. Internet is the door to look into the modern world. It has become a necessity for every person to access the modern education. But unluckily Upper Chitral is still cut off from the global village. There is totally no internet access in all areas of Upper Chitral.
In the modern world, it has become possible for every person to access world class education from his doorstep. Every common person can access to any kind of information while lying in his bed. Global communication has been possible without stepping out of home. Every common person has access to the rapidly developing world in his figure tips, if they have internet access.
Internet is most important for students than anyone else. In the modern education system, students get most of the information from internet. So internet plays the role of an informal teacher for students. This informal teacher stays with the students, anytime they need it. They can ask it, anytime about anything they want. So it has become a necessity for any student to have internet access.
Internet is also important for the working people. Advance information is available about any profession on internet. Every person can improve his professional skills according to science and technology using internet. Youtube, and Wikihow are always here to teach us everything we want to learn in few minutes.
Internet is also very beneficial for a common person, if it is positively used. It can teach us cooking. It can help us in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It can teach us to live a quality life with limited resources. It can be very beneficial for the people of backward areas like Upper Chitral, to walk with the modern world.
But unfortunately, almost all the areas of Upper Chitral have totally no internet access at all. The whole Upper Chitral is still cut off from the global village. There is a poor DSL connection in the capital city Booni, but there isn’t 3g or 4g service by any of the service provider.
The main thickly populated areas of Upper Chitral are Kosht, Mulkhow, Mastuj, Reshun etc, which have totally no internet or a very poor 2g internet access. People who need internet to carry on their daily activities, are compelled to travel to Chitral city or wait for hours to load internet pages on 2g network.
Internet has become a necessity for people nowadays. It looks strange to stay cut off from the global village in this era. Without internet access it is impossible for the people of Upper Chitral to meet the challenges of the modern world. So the government and the higher authorities have to look at this issue and provide internet service to the people of Upper Chitral.
