Kalash community’s winter festival begins
BUMBURATE: Kalash community members dance during their ongoing annual Chitramas festival being celebrated in the valleys of Bumburate, Rumbur and Birir.
The festival got underway on Tuesday night and will continue till Dec 22. A large number of tourists have arrived in the area to enjoy the festivities.
Sacrifices of lamb, goat and cow are offered during this festival. On the last day, all the community members including men, women and children, gather at Jastakhan to perform worship.–Photo by GH Farooqui
