Filling of vacant posts at degree college for girls demanded

BOONI: Speakers at a programme held at the Govt Girls College Booni paid tributes to teachers and highlighted their role in nation building.

The event was organized in collaboration with CHEPS on the occasion of the teachers day.

The speakers also said that teachers should be given all their due rights without any hindrances.
The issue of the vacant posts of teachers at the college was also raised at the event with the speakers asking the government to fill the posts.

The participants were informed that one post of BPS-20, four posts of BPS-19, five posts of BPS-18 and two posts of BPS-17 were vacant at the colleges for long.

The shortage of faculty is badly impacting the academic activities and the issue should be resolved, they added.

Those who spoke on the occasion included Prof Maqsood Ahmed, Prof Khalil Ahmed, Prof Afzal Uddin, educationists Bibi Noor, Saeedullah Jan and Dr Salima Hasaan.

Assistant Commissioner Mastuj Inayatullah presided over the event while DSP Mastuj M. Pervez was the chief guest.

Another programme was held at the Govt Degree College for Boys Booni which was followed by a musical night. A large number of people from different walks of life attended the events.–Sarfraz Shahid
