Girl commits suicide in Birir

BUMBURATE: A girl committed suicide in Birir village of Kalash valley on Tuesday.

Sadia, daughter of Bahadur Khan, consumed poison over her engagement break-up and passed away, a local source said.

The body of the girl was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Drosh for a postmortem and police would launch an investigation based on the postmortem report to ascertain if it was a suicide or not.

Suicide incidents have become frequent across Chitral especially by young women over domestic issues.–Fateh Ullah Kalash
