Dr Islam restored as MS DHQ hospital Chitral

PESHWAR: A division bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday restored Dr Noorul Islam on the post of the medical superintendant (MS) of the District Headquarters Hospital Chitral. On June 8, 2016, the KP health department issued a notification removing Dr Islam from the post and appointing Dr Faizul Mulk (BPS-18) in his place on the BPS-19 post. The decision was, however, challenged in the PHC by Muhibullah Terichvi Advocate who raised 16 legal questions against the reshuffle. Contending before the bench, consisting of Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth and Justice Musarrat Hilali, the petitioner said Dr Mulk was appointed on political basis, adding appointing a junior doctor on the senior post was against rules. He said the appointment of Dr Mulk should be declared null and void and Dr Islam should be restored on the post. After hearing the lawyer, the court set aside the notification of June 8, 2016.]]>
