Basic needs for education in Chitral
Syed Aqeel Ali Shah
KP education index. This is quite pleasurable and a moment of pride for the people of Chitral. Although Chitral is underprivileged in all aspects and facet of basic and intrinsic needs for education, the people around Pakistan were astonished to know that the valley touched the top literacy rate in KP.
Many foreign and national documentaries were made on Chitral highlighting the needs and requirements of a modern education system in Chitral, so that its youth can play a role in the nation building. It is of concern, especially for students, how Chitral is still deprived of the basic needs of life. How the education policies can be best implemented in Chitral? How we can attain the fundamental obligation of education? The cardinal question is who are the persons who are the representatives who can raise the voice of Chitral? So, definitely, we will hinge on our representatives in the assemblies of Pakistan.
There is no single public university in Chitral except two campuses. So, it’s really startling that without any single university and only two govt. degree colleges, Chitral clinched the top position. Think of a situation when there would be some universities and colleges in Chitral, how our youth would be performing. But even with these dreadful circumstances, we showed our love for education and proved that we are educated people.
I want to get the focus of our representatives in the assemblies to kindly come forward and do something for us and force the government to resolve our this contentious education deprivation. I want to get the attentions of government to provide infrastructure, teachers, transport and other basic needs to schools and colleges to surplus their performance.
The literacy rate would have been 100% if there were a single public university and some colleges as well as the school infrastructure and transport system were there. Many schools were destroyed during the floods last year.
I am the student of Engineering University Peshawar and as I belong to the backward Mastuj area, I realize these deprivations which I confronted during my academic career there. These are not only my words but that of all the Chitrali students to enhance their education level which they feel to have during their career. I am especially requesting the MNA and MPAs to raise voice for us and convey our message to the ruling government which reign in the despotism manner.
If steps are taken, we will get 100% literacy rate and every educated person will play his role in the development of Chitral and to resolve the future problems of Chitral. I am sure that our representatives would convey our message to the government and play their important role for the enhancement of education in Chitral.
