No action without evidence, illegal shops to go at all costs: DC

dc He stated this during an inspection visit to the Chitral bazaar where he pointed towards some of the illegally-constructed structures at the PIA Chowk. Pointing towards the shops, Mr Waraich told the onlookers that these are illegal and their owners have been issued notices and the structures would be razed at all costs. He said other parts of the bazaar would also be inspected and if any shop or other structure was found constructed after encroachment, they would be demolished. He said the campaign had been launched in the interest of the citizens and action would be taken on the basis of solid evidence and no injustice would be done with anyone. On this occasion, the DC also asked shopkeepers to cooperate with the district administration, repeating that no action would be initiated against anyone without solid evidence. The DC said the district administration had also launched a drive against those selling substandard and spurious food items and medicines. He said he had no enmity with anyone but wanted to take action against those who were doing business without following the law. He said the doors of his office were open to all and anyone can directly approach him to get their issues resolved. He said owners of shops having documents should produce them to authenticate their claims. The DC also said action would be initiated against transporters charging fares more than the officially fixed.—Bashir Hussain Azad]]>
