Protesters at Muxgol send out strong warning to govt depts

pervez Addressing the gathering, local leaders of Tehreek Huqooq Awam upper Chitral regretted that the government departments were showing lethargy and callousness towards the suffering of the people affected by the natural disasters. They said despite the passage of five months, work on the reconstruction of the damaged Reshun powerhouses could not be started due to which the whole upper Chitral remained without electricity. They warned that if the foreign-funded powerhouses was not rebuilt on a priority basis, the people of upper Chitral would restart cultivating charas from the next spring. They said the powerhouses had been built through foreign grants in lieu of local people abandoning the cultivation of charas which once used to be one of the major cash crops in the area. The protesters also demanded that work on the Muxgol bridge should be expedited so that it can be opened for traffic. On this occasion, some of speakers also criticized the attitude of the AC Mastuj at Booni and demanded his transfer. They said the local people did not want the AC to come back to his office from his current vacations due to his unprofessional attitude.]]>
