Binisik festival celebrated

‘Binisik’ is one of 19 festivals planned to be organized in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Chitral under a project being implemented by Hashoo Foundation (HF) in partnership with the Centre for Culture and Development (CKU).

These efforts are being made towards reviving traditional festivals which are on the verge of extinction. Binisik is the traditional festival and has been very famous in the past. It is celebrated at the time of cultivation of wheat (sowing seed) in the autumn season. The festival was attended by Sardar Hakim, newly-elected Tehsil Nazim, in the capacity of chief guest.
