Zhitur village in Garam Chashma devasted

ZHITUR (GARAM CHASHMA), July 25: Zhitur Gol received a heavy flood on Friday eveing. As per initial reports, 30 houses, three vehicles and seven motorbikes were swept away.
Two Jamat Khanas are also said to have been partially damaged. Moreover, a large area of riped crops, orchards and plants have also been destroyed. So far, no casualties have been reported.
A resident of Zhitur village told this correspondent over phone, and praised the local leadership, president Ismaili Councils Garam Chashma/Parabeg, and the representatives of Chitral Scouts/armed forces and the Garam Chashma police for their presence at the flood affected site and supporting the community in hour of need.
According to the recent survey I conducted on behalf of Garam Chashma Area Development Organization (GADO) approximately 40 houses, 46 cattlesheds, 3 bridges, 2 link roads, water supply scheme, electric polls with two transformers, 6 irrigation channels, 2 water mills, 3 shops washed away in the recent flood of Zhitoor. More than 200 livestock is reported to be damaged. The standing crops were also damaged comprised of potatoes, wheats etc.
