MoU on Shandur festival to be cancelled: MPA

BOONI, April 29: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA, Fouzia Bibi, on Wednesday said the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the governments of KP and Gilgit-Baltistan on the holding of the annual Shandur polo festival would be cancelled soon. Talking to ChitralToday on phone, she said the MoU had been signed by KP tourism minister Amjad Afridi and his counterpart from GB for the joint holding of the annual Shandur festival. She said the MoU was against an agreement of 1927 but it (MoU) can only be cancelled by the chief secretary of the province. The MPA said she had asked the deputy commissioner Chitral to write to the chief secretary through the commissioner of Malakand to review the MoU.
