JI leader opposes electoral alliance with JUI
BOONI, April 5: Secretary Jamaat-e-Islami upper Chitral, Mr Shuja Uddin has said that the district Amir of the Jamaat, Haji Maghfirat Shah, did not take the party’s leadership in upper Chitral before entering into an alliance with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) for teh forthcoming local government elections.
Talking to ChitralToday here, Mr Shuja said that in a bid to become the district nazim, Maghfirat Shah was deviating from the JI’s manifesto and his move could be an embarrassment for the Islamic movement of the party.
He said that the workers of Jamaat-e-Islami always considered the JUI as a corrupt party which can do anything in order to achieve its vested interests. Entering into an alliance with such a party, especially in upper Chitral, where most of the voters of Ghulam Muhammad, a recent entrant to the JUI, were disillusioned from the party.
Mr Shuja also demanded that the provincial as well as central leadership of the JI should come to the rescue of the party in Chitral by reining in on Maghfirat Shah, so that it can not deviate from its basic principles.]
