The first insured Gujjar

BOONI, March 16: Lashkara, 60, belongs to the Gujjar tribe of the Shishi Koh valley in lower Chitral. For the last many years, he has been looking after the cattle of people in Booni and Awi. Despite an abject poverty and lack of awareness, Lashkara sends his children to school here and one of his sons has passed the SSC exam while another is studying in a school. An official of the State Life Insurance told ChitralToday that Lashkara was the first person from the entire Gujjar community of Chitral to get himself insured.
