Water shortage hits Booni

BOONI, Feb 28: A severe shortage of water has hit the town of Booni for about a week after the pipeline laid by WASEP  were damaged by avalanches during the recent rain/snowfall. The residents, especially women and children, are forced to fetch water from the river. The people of the area blamed the government for the mess and said even after allocating Rs40 million for the upgradation of the water supply system, it could not ensure the execution of the project and the funds were embezzled.
