CHITRAL, Feb 11: The commandant of Chitral Scouts, Colonel Naeem Iqbal, has eulogized the efforts of Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) for providing community infrastructure in the length and breadth of Chitral which is aimed at reducing poverty in the area.
Addressing on the occasion of ground breaking ceremony of the girls hostel of Frontier Corps Public School Chitral here on Wednesday, he said that service to humanity by accomplishing development works was an exalted job for an individual or community.
He said that the SRSP was ranked amongst the organizations which are striving to provide facilities to the people by providing infrastructures in different sectors of development for which it has got the support of Chitral Scouts in its implementation when needed.
Colonel Iqbal said that Chitral Scouts was also encouraging the works of public amelioration responding to the expectation of the public apart from discharging its own professional duties of combating terrorism and defending the boundaries of the area.
On this occasion, it was told that the hostel for the girl students of the school will cost 4 million rupees to SRSP which had been announced by its chief executive officer Shahzada Masoodul Mulk on the occasion of the inauguration of a hostel constructed by it in Drosh cantt last year.
It was also told that the hostel will enable the students of the far flung areas of the district to have access to quality education.
Present on this occasion were deputy quartermaster of Chitral Scouts Major Fayaz, district program manager of a SRSP project Khadimullah, district engineer Altaf Hussain Shah and Maulana Israruddin Al-Hilal, the khateeb of Jami Masjid Shahi Bazar Chitral.]]>
