Jirga on power crisis ends in deadlock

BOONI, Jan 27: A jirga of elders held to discuss the possibility of providing three extra hours electricity to offices during working hours ended without any result on Tuesday. The elders from Mulkhow, Biyar, Koh, Torkhow and Mulkhow also exchanged harsh words during the meeting. BooniAfter the failure of the jirga, Assistant Commissioner Minhas Uddin said that the old loadshedding schedule would continue. He warned that if anyone tried to challenge the writ of the government, stern action would be taken against them in accordance with the law. It may be noted that different offices, photo copy machine operators and mobile shop owners had demanded that power supply should be provided to them without loadshedding during working hours. They had warned that if their demand was not met, they would go on an indefinite strike.]]>
