PESHAWAR, Nov 12: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has asserted that his PTI-led coalition government would achieve 100% results of the agenda of change and reforms by implementing it in letter and spirit.
He said that police were the first institution of which the people were scared but we freed it from political interference to make it public friendly force.
“A common man is genuinely worried when he is to go to a police station, hospital or court. We have brought improvement in police stations and hospitals that come under our jurisdiction,” he added while addressing a function after inaugurating the Police Access Service (PAS) at the central police office launched under which one can approach the force for help or lodge a complaint against any injustice relating to police department only through a short messaging service (SMS).
Senior Minister for Health Shahram Khan Tarkai, Minister Education Muhammad Atif Khan, Minister Public Health Engineering Shah Farman Khan, Advisor to Chief Minister on C&W Akbar Ayub Khan, Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani and other police high ups were also present on this occasion. Under the service, one can send SMS on 0315-9007777 to lodge any complaint or approach police for any kind of help.

Pervez Khattak assured that there would be no interference in the affairs of the police force as the government was to do legislation and develop a system in which the institutions perform at their own.
He continued that the KP government has introduced 114 laws to improve the life of the common man while hundreds of more are in the pipeline. Earlier, IGP Nasir Khan Durrani said the provincial government was fully cooperating with the police force in implementing its projects to improve efficiency and performance of the jawans. He lauded the provincial government for no interference in the affairs of the force.
He gave the credit of the PAS to superintendent of police (SP) Sohaib Ashraf as the project was his brainchild upon which the Chief Minister awarded shield to Sohaib for introducing and designing the system. “The entire country, especially KP is hit by terrorism and the security arrangements have made it difficult for a common man to access a police station or a senior officer. He is to cross several hurdles to reach me. Now this SMS service will give him direct access to lodge his complaint or ask for any help,” said Nasir Durrani.
