Students asked to go for quality education
CHITRAL, Nov 9: Speakers at a function held to inaugurate a new school and observe Iqbal Day in the Singoor village on Sunday stressed the importance of quality education to meet the challenges of the modern world.
District Education Officer Mueenuddin Khattak was chief guest on the occasion while the ceremony was presided over by Rahimullah, deputy advocate general Khyber Pahtunkhwa.
Addressing the participants of the function, director of the Knowledge & Sciences (SKS) school, Muhammad Karim, said he belonged to a very remote area of Khot valley and got education until SSC level from his village. Later he went to Karachi for further education.
He added: “I found a big difference between the education system and standard in Chitral and Karachi. That was why I decided to open this educational system here which will be monitored online as well as upgraded to the ‘O’ level. This school will render quality education to students of Chitral and will also offer scholarships to the talented and deserving students.”
Other speakers said Chitral was fourth in terms of education in KP having a large number of schools and colleges but there was still no fully-fledged university. They said though there were a large number of institutions but they lacked quality.
They appreciated Muhammad Karim’s efforts for the establishment of the new education system with latest information technology.
Ameer Wali, the principal of Government Centennial Model High School, Liaquat Ali Khan, former director AKES, Haji Yar Khan, Assistant Director Allama Iqbal Open University campus, Dr. Israrullah Khan, District Health Officer, Ziauddin, president All Teachers Association Chitral, Wazir Muhammad, chairman Chitral Community Development Network, Israrullah, president Insaf student federation, on the occasion paid tributes to Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
The speakers said knowledge is power and no nation can develop without quality education. They stressed getting quality education with latest information technology.]]>
