MASTUJ, Oct 16: Civil rights activist, social worker, poet and lifetime PPP jiyala Meraj Hussain Meraj died in a road accident near Mastuj on Thursday.

The jeep was going to Saht in Mulkhow from Mastuj when it met with the accident at Kroi Deri. Two people were seriously injured in the accident. — SN Peerzada
چترال(گل حماد فاروقی) سڑک حادثے میں ایک شحص جاں بحق دو شدید زحمی۔ ایس ایچ او تھانہ بونی کے مطابق ایک مسافر ٹویوٹا گاڑی رجسٹریشن نمبر Peshawar 1076 B مستوج سے ملکہو جارہی تھی جونہی یہ بد قسمت گاڑی کروئی دری کے قریب پہنچ گئی تو سڑک کی حراب حالت کی وجہ سے سینکڑوں فٹ گہرے دریائے مستوج میں گر گئی جس کے نتیجے میں پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی کے سرگرم کارکن اور معروف سماجی شحصیت معراج حسین ولد ابراہیم شاہ موقع پر جاں بحق ہوا جبکہ عبد الحق سکنہ وریجون اور گاڑی کی ڈرائیور خوش محمد سکنہ ملکہو شدید زحمی ہوئے۔ زحمیوں کو بونی ہسپتال لائے گئے جہاں ان کی حالت تشویش ناک بتائی جاتی ہے۔ واضح رہے کہ چترال کے بالائی علاقے میں تمام سڑکیں نہایت حراب حالت میں ہیں اور دریا کے کنارے یہ سڑکیں گزرنے سے انتہائی حطرناک بھی ہیں جس کی وجہ سے آئے روز اس قسم کے حادثات میں کئی قیمتی جانیں ضائع ہوتی ہیں۔ سڑک کے کنارے دریا کی جانب کوئی حفاظت دیوار یا جنگلہ بھی نہں ہے۔

Pakistan People’s Party Chitral has lost a vary energetic and active activist in the road accident. The late Mr Meraj Hussain of Seht was a lifetime member of the party and always there when needed. He was a great poet with full wisdom and smiling face. We are vary sad upon this sudden incident. My last Mulaqat with Mr Hussain was this year in May when he visited my residence in Charun Oweer to condole the death of my beloved mother. Oh my God he was such a visionary gentleman. On the occasion of this difficult time our prayers, our condolences and good wishes are with the bereaved family in particular and PPP Chitral in general. We pray to Almighty God that may his soul in eternal peace. (Ameen)

Meraj Hussain was a pleasant personality with a smiling face. He would regularly send inspirational text quotes to his cell contacts. His last message to friends only few hours before his death was: “If five minutes of smile can improve your photograph, so would having a smiling face improve your complete life.” May his soul rest in peace.
An extremely sad news to know that Mr Miraj Hussain passed away in a road accident. May Almighty God blessed his soul in eternal peace and give courage to the bereaved family to bear this enormous loss.
Miraj was a good human being, who always stood by the side of needy people. He was a committed social worker, who was always charged with a passion to use both his physical and mental strength for the wider welfare of the local communities.
As an enthusiastic political worker, he preferred troubles for himself at the expense of comfort for others.
He used his poetry to cause constructive social and political reform in the society.
He will be sorely missed for long time to come.
