Deserving children provided free uniforms, schoolbags

CHITRAL, Oct 3: The Child protection Unit held a ceremony to distribute school uniforms, bags and other items among destitute children. About 75 such children from different parts of Chitral attended the function and received the aid items, says a press release. photoMuhammad Aftab, the child protection officer, on the occasion briefed the gathering about the activities of the organization aimed at helping the poor children and ensure their basic rights. He said the 75 children who were given the schoolbags and other items belonged to the union councils of Chitral, Denin, Garam Chashma, Mastuj, Yarkhun, Laspur, Broze, Ayun, Toekhow and Morkhow. It may be noted that two orphan children were admitted to a local hospital through the efforts of the Child Protection Bureau. They were later provided blood donated by the students of Jamia Islamia Rehankot. Deputy Commissioner Chitral Ameenul Haq was the chief guest on the occasion. The Child Protection Unit also discussed with the DC the possibility of establishing a child blood donation society in Chitral. Those who also attended the ceremony included District Officer Social Welfare Hashmat Yar Khan, district Khateeb Maulana Fazale Mola and officials of the Child Protection Unity and other citizens.]]>
