Youth asked to actively participate in sports activities

CHITRAL, Oct 2: Speakers at the conclusion of a football tournament in Sosoom (Karimabad Valley) asked the youth of the area to take active part in sports activities to keep themselves allof from the menace of drugs. The final match was played between Kiyar-A and Sosoom-A teams in which the Sosoom team won. The closing ceremony of the tournament was held under the chair of former Naib Nazim Sultan Shah while MPA Saleem Khan was chief guest at the occasion. Addressing the closing ceremony, Sultan Shah said the only playground in the valley was in a poor shape due to lack of maintenance. He demanded Rs3.5 million from the government to renovate the playground. He also said the roads of the valley were in a very poor condition and often people lose their lives in traffic accidents. MPA Saleem Khan on the occasion said the estimated cost of the construction of the road was Rs350 million while his share of fund from the government was Rs10-20 million. He announced Rs1.5 million for the playground and said that this playground. He stressed on the youth to participate in cultural shows and sports to eliminate the curse of drug addiction.
