CHITRAL, Oct 2: A farewell party was held at the Government High School Balach in honor of Muhammad Hashim, the Headmaster of the school, who retired from service.
Ihsanul Haq, assistant district education officer, was chief guest on the occasion while the ceremony was presided over by Mr. Hashim.
Addressing the function, the speakers paid tribute to Mr. Hashim for his services during the 42-year-long career. Education officer Ihsanul Haq was also one of his students. The speakers said that Mr. Hashim was a hardworking, committed and honest teacher. There are so many students of him who have achieved highest position in different fields.
The speakers emphasized on the teachers of government schools to restore the trust of parents in government schools by teaching with honesty and enthusiasm. They said that teaching was a prophetic and honorable profession and we should respect our teachers because they guide us in our educational field. Traditional gifts were presented to the retire headmaster on behalf of the students and teachers of the school.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Hashim headmaster said that he started his career in 1970 as a primary schoolteacher and was promoted to the post of headmaster. He said that he started science and mathematics classes in his school even though there was no science teacher in the school.
He said that thousands of his students got high education and were now working on high posts. He said there was two categories of people: some are big and some are called great. But a teacher always is a great man who reforms the career of students.
