MASTUJ, Sept 22: Mr Dil Murad, the manager of Qasado, stressed upon the youth to acquire skills and use it for the development of their areas and also for acquiring a respectable means of earning, says a press release.
He was speaking at the concluding session of two training in electrical and carpentry trade organized by the Aga Khan Planning and Building Service, Pakistan in partnership with the Aga Khan Rural Support Progamme in Chuinj, near Mastuj. He said unemployment could be reduced substantially through acquiring marketable skills by youth with the support of the development agencies.
He thanked AKPBSP and AKRSP for organizing this training programme for the youth in this area. A total of 17 candidates completed a three week course in electrical and 10 young people participated in two week course in carpentry. In carpentry the participants learnt about insulation, making hatch window and heat retention box. Both the participants of electrical and carpentry were engaged in practical activities after theory classes were over.
At the conclusion, certificates were distributed among the participants. Mr. Muhammad Karam, Area Manager AKPBSP, was also present and spoke on the occasion. Similarly, two training sessions, one in electrical and one in painting, were arranged in Harchin, Laspur valley. Out of 27 participants 17 got training in electrical trade and 10 in painting. Hon. Secretary of Aga Khan Local Council for Laspur, Mr. Manzoor Wali Shah appreciated the efforts of AKPBSP and AKRSP for providing training to the youth in the remote valley of laspur and requested to provide such training also in other marketable trades. It may be noted in two training total 54 young people got training, out of which 34 participants were in electrical, 10 in carpentry and 10 in painting. It is also worth mentioning, Laspur valley for the first time has been able to have 10 trained painters, who could be available to cater to the painting needs of the people of the area.
