CHITRAL, June 3: The 102 border policemen who were forcibly sent on premature retirement in 2013 have been restored on their jobs.
According to a notification issued from the deputy commissioner Chitral office, the decision to call back the retired personnel was taken on the direction of the Peshawar High Court Swat bench.
In April 2013, when Rehmatullah Wazir was the deputy commissioner Chitral, the border police role was suddenly changed and the 102 personnel sent on forced retirement. The border police personnel included one subedar major, four subedars, 16 naib subedars, 27 haveldars and 54 jawans. The officials later challenged the move in the high court which declared it null and void. The restored personnel would get all their salary areas from the day they were sent home.–Nazir Hussain]]>
