PESHAWAR, May 16: The members of the National Youth Assembly (NYA) met Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) from upper Chitral Sardar Hussain here on Thursday.
The delegation of NYA members was headed by Karimullah and Shahabuddin, member NYA. Dr Asif Anjum, Ihsanullah Jan, Tahiruddin, Lutufullah and Sartaj Ali were also present. During the two-hour meeting, different issues were identified and highlight. The important issues discussed were the demand for reserve seats for the students of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral in Peshawar University and its hostels.
The demand of scholarship for deserved students from Chitral in the universities and colleges was also raised. The delegation also demanded a separate matric and intermediate and secondary exam board for Chitral to provide easy access to the students from the valley. The need for a separate and fully-fledged university in Chitral was also discussed during the meeting.
During the meeting, the MPA expressed annoyance over the worst condition of SBBU Chitral campus. He also said that the SBBU main university had only 250 students but in Chitral campus, there were more then 500. “So we are trying to establish fully-fledged university in Chitral.”
He also told the meeting that he had also reserved separate seats for Chitrali students in Karakoram International University in Gilgit and now we are working to open Karakoram International University campus in Mastuj.
