Charun-Oveer residents demand basic facilities

CHITRAL, April 6: The residents of Charun-Oveer have demanded the provision of all basic facilities in their area. charunA public meeting was held in the village which was presided over by Subedar retired Muhammad Nadir. Newly-elected Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Syed Sardar Hussain was chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, elites of the area said Charun-Oveer was a remote and backward area and still remained deprived of basic facilities. They said the residents of the area are deprive from blacktop and metal road, drinking and irrigation water as well as from health and education facilities. MPA Sardar Hussain assured the gathering that he would try his best to solve the problems of the village. He said that the allocated funds for this backward area would never be allowed to be embezzled by contractors and corrupt officials. He stressed on the people to get united for getting their right. He said some 30,000 bags of expired wheat lying in the grain stores since long would soon be destroyed. He said he would allocate funds for the maintenance of the road to the. The MPA also asked the local people to participate in volunteer services to launch works on a self-help basis. He thanked the local people for voting in his favor and assured them that he would never disappoint the people of PK-90. Gul Jee, a social worker of the valley who is settled in Canada, said the people of the area have to carry their patients, especially women, on their shoulders or in cots to Booni hospital but sometimes they die before reaching the hospital because of the dilapidated condition of the road. Some school-going children demanded the provincial government establish a girls high school and boy college in the area besides posting a doctor in the local Basic Health Unit.]]>
