Parents day: If we want to progress, education should be our first priority
CHITRAL, May 2: Awards were distributed among the students and teachers at the annual parents day of the Frontier Corps Public School and College here on Friday.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Shoab Jadoon, Commandent Chitral Scouts Naeem Iqbal, Principal FCPSC Samad Gul, parents, guests and a large number of people attended the ceremony.
The programme started with a recitation from holy Quran by Sajad Ali Shah of class 10th and then the national anthem was played. The students of the school impressive tableau, drama and a well synchronized P.T show.
All the parents and guests applauded the students for displaying such an impressive performance in all these fields. The principal of the school welcomed all the guests and parents for their participation in the program. He said the school was established in 1996 and in the first session there were only 10 students but due the untiring efforts of the successive commandants of Chitral Scouts the number of students kept on increasing.
He also eulogized the services of incumbent commandant Chitral Scouts and his wife for the development of the school.
Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner said education had never been the priority of Muslim Ummah. When colleges and universities were being set up in the West, our kings in the subcontinent were busy in the constructions of forts and mausoleums. “If we want to stand shoulder in shoulder with the commity of nations we have to make education our first priority.” He said Chitral Scouts were rendering great services to the people of Chitral by spreading the light of education in the valley in addition to guarding the frontiers of the country.
Commandant Chitral Scouts Col. Naeem Iqbal said the youth of Chitral were replete with enormous talent and the people of Chitral were deeply committed for the promotion of education.
He said it was very important to inculcate leadership, patriotism, passion and integrity in the youth for the future of the country. He said we could work closely with each individual student in order to give them every opportunity to discover, explore and sharpen their talents and horizons and thereby define their paths in life.
Mr Iqbal said three educational institutions had been established at Drosh, Chitral and Mastuj with meagre fee structure to provide quality education to the students. He announced to construct a girls hostel at Chitral to cater to the needs of girls belonging to far-flung areas.
