Chitral student association elects new president
Report Syed Shahab Uddin
PESHAWAR, April 27: The Chitral Student Association (CSA) Peshawar held its presidential election here on Sunday.
A large number of students wanted to participate in the election process but poor management forced many of them to leave the venue without casting their votes. Many of the students criticized the management for selecting the small building for the election. Some of the students even chanted slogans against the poor management.
However, somehow, the election reached its conclusion with success. Ex-president Zakauddin of Chitral Student Welfare Organization announced the final result of the election. According to the result, Syed Nawshad Jan, student of BS Physics at the Islamia College Peshawar, won the presidential race by getting 177 votes.
There were a total of 648 votes. Among the six other presidential candidates, Jamil remained second with 145 votes, Aizaz 88 votes, Aftab Ali Khan 88 votes, Shah Nawaz 77 and Muneeb 92 votes. It may be noted that the CSA is the only student representative organization in Peshawar after emerging of the Chitral Student and Welfare Organization and the Chitral Student Organization with the consent of their respective president and other students.
